DUGAR DE BALADRAR THE GLADIATOR. I LIVE PLENTY OF NEVERENDING MEMORIES.

I will use these words as a tribute to the recent loss of Dugar De Baladrar The Gladiator and a few words of affection to our dear friends, the owners; "The Gladiator" was a unique dog, superb, with an incomparable genetic potential, a live representative of the genuine Stafford and that even in his last days could give to Dugar De Baladrar sets his incomparable legacy, which will strengthen with more intensity the quality of the breeding of our affix. This dog was the strength, the beauty, the class and temperament. All thanks to the way how owners Vicente, Sonia, Alexandra and Nelson knew how to raise and treat it so specially, perfect owners for a dog that almost was perfect… or maybe it was.

Letter from Vicente González Salmerón

First of all, I must say that this letter is to pass on a series of conflicting feelings, first of sadness that embargoed us on the passing of our great Dugar De Baladrar The Gladiator, an unexpected death, and which has affected us deeply to the whole family. Why? Very simple.He came into our lives the same day my daughter Alexandra, was born and has been the perfect companion to my two children, never committed the slightest roughness with them and always knew how to give them a special affection, there were also some moments that another cookie was removed from their hands, but so gently that they would hardly notice, and with us, the adults, was an irreplaceable partner of excursions and housemate. I will always  admire the joy he had and he was always wagging his tail and giving us love. How you are not going to miss him so much, that I am not ashamed to say that all we have all cried him.

When I said mixed feelings, I say that because there is a great joy of having a great friendship with Juanma and Ana within this sad event. I will try to be brief, it all started living in Venezuela when it came to my hands a magazine in the world of dog whose breed of the month was Sttaffy (this breed was unknown to me), simply seeing dogs, it was clear to me the breed that I liked most were the Dugar De Baladrar, so I got in contact with them, and only in a short time of conversation I realized that I was not speaking with a seller of dogs of those that immediately they have an available dog for you, “an alleged future champion”. I wanted to make a reservation for a future litter and he told me no. And so another positive thing, that he was not desperate to take the money and then see what happens. I also asked him that if he guarantees the mouth and right ears and he was so clear that he told me that nobody can give full guarantee of that.

I had to wait and at the time, no along one, he made me a reservation from the breeding of Ch Makeready Dugar Baladrar and Ch Zutar Dugar Delight. I had a tremendous amount of emotion and I saw the puppies with a month of birth, they impressed me, they were so beautiful that I was speechless; I was surprised of the cleanness and comfortableness of the puppies, needless to say of adult dogs who walk freely around his house. That day they received us and invited us for lunch, so we were treated with total kindness. Few, if any, breeder does that and less without necessity, those are details that one must appreciate.

I thank them publicly, to reach our hands to that exemplary dog, Picasso (Dugar De Baladrar The Gladiator), an exemplary dog of Stafford, some criticized, but they had certainly wanted its wonderful genetic legacy, and those who have the genetic legacy they are well happy of the precious puppies he created. But the best of our Picasso, the name with which we called him at home, has been his affection and knowing being, as I say, always happy and playful until the last day. We were lucky to dismiss him, Sonia and I between tears, we could give him a kiss and tell him “we love you chiquitin”.

I want to say also to those who have criticized so much the breeding method of Dugar De Baladrar, that we should admire the good part of the people and their knowledge, and that the results speak for themselves. I feel a healthy envy of his way to manage his breeding and his professionalism.

Thanks for your friendship Ana and Juanma and always count on us in every way.

We lately had the satisfaction to send to our partner and great friend Frans Miller, Zutar Staffords, from Rep. of South Africa, frozen semen from two of our best and superb stud dogs. (DUGAR DE BALADRAR RED BADLER and DUGAR DE BALADRAR GUTSY FIGHTER).

A few months ago we also had the joy of giving him one of our wonderful puppies, (Sir) DUGAR DE BALADRAR MASAI OF ZUTAR. He is highly impressed with the quality of this puppy and feel that he could contribute a lot towards his breeding program. Frans is very delighted about this and very positive that this sincere gusture would help a lot to further enhance the quality of the Zutar Staffords. True friendship is always.

At last our superb girl “Chiqueta” (Deestaff Strange Amor of Dugar) is already with us.

She has arrived at home in the hand of her breeder, our dear Dorthe Jakobsen from Denmark.

Dorthe, you had a great vision and intelligence to choose our outstanding Dugar de Baladrar Red Badler (in all likelihood, the best red Stafford that exists in Europe) for your beautiful “Nellie” Colliermans Pretty Woman, in spite of at that moment your ideas were treated ironically by someone. The result is evident: the best litter you have had with Colliermans Pretty Woman. Now, “those” who questioned your decision, will be able to see and admire these magnificent puppies, but unfortunately they never will be able to enjoy them.

Congratulations Dorthe! and keeps on working on this way, evidently the right direction, the best direction
